A Note from the Assistant Dean of the Graduate College
December 21, 2020
Dear Graduate Students:
I want to wish you all joy and peace this holiday season. As the term winds down for all of us, I am hopeful that you will take some much needed time to relax and unwind, put your computer and email away for at least a few days.
The past nine months have been quite challenging and we need this time to catch our collective breath. Take some time to focus on some things we may have taken for granted in years past, such as watching holiday movies, a roaring fire or taking long walks. For me, it will be baking my family’s favorite ginger molasses cookies. Just feeling the dough in my fingers and taking in the aroma of the ginger, molasses and nutmeg brings me joy.
When we return to campus after our winter break, please continue to practice self-care. And if you begin to encounter any challenges, even small ones, please reach out early. The entire staff of the Graduate College is here to help and support you.
On a personal note, I look forward to continuing our efforts in 2021 on work that focuses on diversity and social justice. Our combined efforts to make Drexel University a more inclusive and diverse community is far from completed, but I am pleased with the positive steps we are taking.
Again, enjoy the upcoming break and please take some time to decompress and relax.
Please stay safe and healthy during this holiday season.
Warm regards,
Anne Converse Willkomm
